Katie Zacharia was mid-interview when a Trump adviser summoned her to see JD Vance, and she never came back
Laughter erupts in the briefing room as Katie Zacharia cuts short her debut White House press conference after accepting just three pre-selected questions in 14 minutes.
The knock came from senior adviser Jason Miller, who told Katie Zacharia: 'JD wanted to chat with us real quick.' Minutes later, President Donald Trump told reporters on his helipad he had urged her: 'Honestly, if I were you, I'd reconsider.' Hours earlier she had said no staff changes were planned. Privately, Trump reportedly said she 'had no talent and shouldn't be on television.'
Her debut briefing lasted just 14 minutes and took only three questions.
She faced scrutiny over calling herself a lawyer despite never passing the bar exam.
Afterwards, Zacharia hailed Trump as 'a kind, wonderful, gracious' man.
