Kemi Badenoch accuses Andy Burnham of failing to do the 'difficult stuff' after the first Gogglebox appearance by a PM

Kemi Badenoch tied Prime Minister Andy Burnham's sofa turn to his talk of stockpiling canned goods and warned that the country is not being protected. Burnham sat alongside Liverpool mayor Steve Rotheram on the No 10 sofa for a Stand Up to Cancer special on Channel 4. Burnham hit back that he would 'make no apology' for trying to 'lead with a bit of lightness'. The episode aired on Friday night.

'SNL UK' mocked the pair, with Burnham's double downing a whole canister of Twiglets.

Badenoch was reportedly annoyed that she was not invited onto the programme herself.

LBC caller Salome told Burnham's critics to 'find something else to moan about'.
