Kemi Badenoch's Tories move within two points of Andy Burnham's Labour in their best poll since the election

The YouGov poll — the first conducted since last week's Budget — places the Conservatives on 24 per cent, a two-point gain from the previous week and their strongest showing since the 2024 general election. Labour slipped a point to 26 per cent, with Burnham's Budget failing to generate any bounce, while Reform came third at 21 per cent for the third week running.
The Tories have now outpolled Reform for three consecutive weeks, reversing months in which they trailed behind, with 67 per cent of 2024 Tory voters saying they would back the party again.
A More in Common poll found voters dismissing Burnham's Budget as 'tinkering', with many saying it will not ease the cost of living, reduce energy bills or adequately fund defence.
The slide will sting Farage — his party has dropped from an 18-month run as Britain's most popular party to its lowest YouGov score since the general election.
