Kennedy Center Honors moves offsite for first time as Trump's legal battle over the venue reshapes the celebrated ceremony

Trump's legal battle to have his name added to the Kennedy Center building has forced the annual Honors ceremony to relocate offsite for the first time in its history. The dispute centres on a renovation contract that Trump claims gives him naming rights, which the Center's board is contesting in court.

This year's honorees include singer-songwriter Paul Anka, producer David Foster, playwright David Mamet, country legend Barbara Mandrell, and actor Andy Garcia.

Trump has pushed the Kennedy Center toward a more conservative cultural direction since taking control of its board earlier this year.
