Kent influencer, 23, 'suffering terribly' in Dubai jail as death penalty trial is delayed until October 28

Brooke George, 23, from Gravesend, Kent, has been barred from making international calls and denied sleep medication as she awaits a murder trial that could end in execution by firing squad. Her mother Tess says bright lights blaze around the clock in every room at the notorious Bur Dubai police station, while the cries of babies make rest impossible. George claims she stabbed William 'Bill' Treeby, 26, in self-defence after he attacked her at his Dubai apartment in June; she was arrested at the airport the next day while trying to fly home.
Advocacy group Detained in Dubai founder Radha Stirling says George's mother 'is left wondering how much worse things will become before she hears her daughter's voice again.'
George's last court hearing on October 7 collapsed after prosecution witnesses failed to appear, pushing the trial back to October 28.
The Bur Dubai detention centre was 'never designed for long-term habitation,' Detained in Dubai warns, adding British citizens held there briefly during Iran strikes were terrified.
