Laura-Jane Wain, from Upper Halling in Kent, followed every piece of council advice — including bringing Bruce Almighty into her cellar each evening to muffle his dawn crowing — yet still received a second anti-social behaviour notice from Medway Council in September threatening her with a £1,500 fine. Neighbours she approached all denied making the complaint, and she still does not know who lodged it.

Wain says she received supportive messages from locals who said Bruce's crowing 'feels like the country.'

Medway Council also suggested a low-ceiling coop to stop Bruce throwing his head back; the Wains called that animal cruelty.

Bruce Almighty has now been returned to the animal charity that originally rehomed him.
