Kentucky Powerball winner arrested for a FIFTH time since his $167m jackpot win

James Farthing, 51, was found unconscious and alone behind the wheel of a running Ford Mustang parked near a Walmart EV charging station in Georgetown, Kentucky, at around 3am on Sunday. Officers noted the smell of alcohol and marijuana, slurred speech and bloodshot eyes. Scott County deputies had to knock on the window repeatedly before he stirred. Farthing claimed a woman had dropped him there and left, but surveillance footage told a different story — showing nobody exiting the Mustang after it pulled in.
Farthing won Kentucky's largest-ever Powerball prize — a $167.3m jackpot — in April 2025 with a $2 ticket bought at a Georgetown petrol station.
His previous four arrests since the win include domestic violence strangulation charges, a hit-and-run with a Corvette, intimidating a legal witness, and kicking a Florida deputy in the head.
The citation states Farthing was 'manifestly under the influence of alcohol' and represented a risk to himself and to others, given that he may have driven while impaired.
