Andres Tapia Londono and Christhofer Jesus Vasquez, both 18, have each received four-year sentences for the manslaughter of Yeray Sanchez Morales. Yeray, who had hoped to become a PE teacher, was stabbed nine times in the neck and chest outside a McDonald's on Old Kent Road in Southwark. He and a friend had been sitting together at 11pm on 27 August 2025 when a group set upon them in front of a crowd of watching teenagers. He succumbed to his injuries in hospital seven days later. Detectives cracked the case after the attackers posted images of their blood-soaked, knife-holding hands on social media.
Police also used CCTV, voice notes and DNA from a bottle rim to convict seven boys and a man in total.
Yeray's mother Elena Morales said: 'Yeray was only 17 years old when his life was stolen.'
His surviving friend told police they had no idea why they had been targeted — the attack was apparently random.
