Kimi Antonelli wins in Texas and moves to the brink of becoming F1's youngest ever world champion

The 20-year-old Mercedes driver converted pole into a 13-second win over Charles Leclerc at the Circuit of the Americas, his ninth victory of the season. He heads to Mexico City next week with a 123-point lead over George Russell; Lewis Hamilton is one point further adrift. Ninth place or better in Mexico City will be enough to clinch the title. Hamilton's fourth and Russell's eighth kept the championship mathematically open.

Toto Wolff called it 'the race of a champion who isn't the champion yet'.

Leclerc secured second with a late lunge past Max Verstappen, who came home third.

Sebastian Vettel has held the youngest-champion record since 2010, when he was 23.
