King praises William in state banquet speech for Sultan of Oman just hours after Harry's bombshell GQ interview
King Charles told Sultan Haitham bin Tarik al Said there can be 'few happier symbols of success' than a relationship passed down the generations. He was hailing Prince William's bond with the Sultan's son, Sayyid Theyazin, at Windsor Castle. The pair were joint patrons of the Jewel of Arabia Expedition through Oman. Prince Harry, who claimed some relatives 'don't want' reconciliation, went unmentioned.
Harry's spokesman insisted his 'some people' remark was not a 'swipe' at William.
Charles also hailed Oman's 'noble efforts' to keep the Strait of Hormuz open.
Prime Minister Andy Burnham attended his first state banquet among the 160 guests.
