Nowak killer's mother, who hid the knife, is to be freed early under release scheme and 'DEPORTED to India' (we'll believe it when we see it)
Henry Nowak, the Southampton University student whose killer's mother is expected to walk free under Labour's early release scheme having served less than half her three-year sentence.Kiran Kaur, the mother of Henry Nowak's killer, who faces deportation to India and a Court of Appeal challenge to her sentence on 5 November, weeks before her scheduled early release.
Kiran Kaur, the mother of Henry Nowak's killer Vickrum Digwa, will be released after serving fewer than half of her three-year sentence for concealing the murder weapon. The Indian national has received a Deportation Liability Notice and may be removed to India before the year is out, roughly coinciding with the first anniversary of Nowak's death on December 3.
Kaur was sentenced for taking the knife her son had used to stab 18-year-old Southampton student Nowak to the family home, obstructing police with a 'wall of lies'.
Digwa was convicted of murder and handed a life sentence with a minimum 21 years; he is appealing on the grounds that his sentence is too harsh, while the Attorney General contends it is too lenient.
Her sentence is also under challenge at the Court of Appeal on November 5, just weeks before her scheduled release.
