Kristi Noem quietly loses Trump envoy role and now faces husband's demand for spousal support

Kristi Noem's special envoy designation for the Shield of the Americas lapsed last month with no public announcement, the State Department has confirmed, leaving her in a senior advisory role under Deputy Secretary Christopher Landau. The status change occurred shortly before the UN General Assembly in September, which Noem continued to attend for diplomatic meetings even though her envoy title had already expired. Her husband Bryon has since filed a legal response to her divorce complaint in which he is seeking monthly spousal support from her.

Noem was ousted as Homeland Security Secretary earlier this year following scrutiny over adviser Corey Lewandowski's influence within the department.

Despite the title change, Trump spoke warmly of Noem at a Shield of the Americas leaders' meeting, saying she had done 'a really terrific job'.

Bryon's spousal support claim follows the emergence of photographs showing him in a flesh-coloured crop top and pink shorts connected to a 'bimbofication' fetish.
