Kristin Scott Thomas backs Slow Horses co-star Jack Lowden as the next James Bond, saying he has 'that twinkle'
Jack Lowden, the bookies' favourite to succeed Daniel Craig as James Bond, told British GQ that co-star Gary Oldman had declared in September that Amazon MGM had already chosen their 007.
Josh O'Connor has called being linked to the Bond role an "incredibly bizarre pinch me moment", speaking at the opening of a new theatre in his hometown of Cheltenham on Tuesday. Pierce Brosnan has separately endorsed fellow contender Callum Turner, calling him "so strong" in a Vanity Fair interview published today, while Dame Judi Dench reveals in her new memoir that it was Daniel Craig's idea to have her character killed off.
Robert Pattinson has entered the running according to Ladbrokes, whose odds on him tumbled from 50/1 to 12/1, though Jack Lowden remains favourite at 4/6.
Dench writes that Craig's director Sam Mendes took her to the Wolseley restaurant to break the news, adding of Craig: 'Apparently, it was Daniel's idea to have me killed. Arsehole.'
Producer Amy Pascal has said a casting announcement by the end of the year is 'a good bet', with Denis Villeneuve directing and Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight writing the script.
