'This is how I am in sex. Do you like it or not?' Ayman Al-Shammari, 28, messaged in Arabic after attacking a 26-year-old woman who had let him sleep on her sofa in Taunton, having told him they were just friends. A minute-long phone clip caught her sobbing 'No, no, I don't like that' as she cried and tried to scratch him, and prosecutor Simon Burns said he 'carried on regardless'.

Judge Euan Ambrose warned Ayman Al-Shammari, the Kuwaiti defendant: 'You should expect a prison sentence.'

Questioned by police, Ayman Al-Shammari denied rape but stopped cooperating once the recordings were played.

Avon and Somerset Police say they cannot 'proactively issue media releases' on every arrest or charge.
