'Kyiv and Lviv residents' receive fake radiation alerts after Ukraine's air raid app was 'hacked', air force says

Ukraine's air force confirmed the publicly available air alert app was hacked on Sunday night, pushing false nuclear radiation warnings to users across Kyiv, Lviv and other regions. Authorities stressed there is no actual threat and urged citizens to rely only on official information channels.

The fake alerts briefly showed a nuclear emergency status before the abnormality disappeared, the Ukrainian military confirmed.

Ukraine's air force attributed the false warnings to a cyber-attack targeting the widely used civilian app.
