Russia's jet-powered drone campaign kept Kyiv on edge with a second wave of strikes after Monday's attack trapped a Ukrainian scientist on an upper floor of the National Academy of Sciences, forcing her to escape by climbing down a ladder as the historic building blazed. At least one person was killed and 19 injured at the academy alone, with Russia's faster, high-flying jet drones now interceptable only just over half the time. The strikes also hit a pharmaceutical company, petrol stations and a medical facility in Kyiv, and killed three more people at a business centre in Dnipro.
Zelensky said Monday's drone wave across Ukraine killed at least 10 people and injured more than 80 in total.
NATO scrambled two Spanish F-18s overnight after Romania detected an aerial target near its border, and suspected drone fragments were later found on farmland in Brăila County.
Foreign minister Andrii Sybiha accused Russia of 'deliberately' striking a scientific institution during working hours.
