Labour and SNP MPs are held for eight hours and interrogated before Israel bars them from the West Bank

Clive Lewis, Labour MP for Norwich South, and Lara Bird, SNP MP for Arbroath and Broughty Ferry, were stopped crossing from Jordan on Monday with a 23-strong Progressive International delegation. Scottish Greens MSP Kate Nevens and ex-Labour MP Sam Tarry were also turned back. The group planned to stand with Palestinian farmers during the olive harvest. A letter told the non-MPs they were barred over 'prevention of illegal immigration'.
Lewis says delegates were 'shouted at' during questioning at the border crossing.
As serving MPs, Lewis and Bird were told to seek Israel's foreign minister's permission.
Bird asked: 'If Israel has nothing to hide, why is it so determined to stop us?'
