Labour group demands Burnham sack national security adviser Jonathan Powell over his wife's Palestine Action post

Labour Against Antisemitism told Prime Minister Andy Burnham that Jonathan Powell 'must resign or be sacked', warning his wife Sarah Helm 'raises security concerns'. The group says partners are covered by Developed Vetting, so any failure is 'indefensible'. It also flagged Helm writing about 'the Jewish lobby' and its access to prime ministers. No 10 insists Burnham retains confidence in Powell.
Shadow minister Alicia Kearns has also branded Powell's position 'untenable'.
Helm posted: 'God help us authors who support Palestine and Palestine Action.'
She then asked where to sign a letter demanding the terror ban be lifted.
