Balaclava-clad youths set five cars ablaze, fired flares and performed dangerous stunts in a field near Haswell, County Durham, at a vigil organised by the mother of Michael Cahill, 23, one of five men killed in the wrong-way A66 crash that also cost two officers their lives. Labour MP Andy McDonald branded the wider outbreak of violence "terrorism," warning residents feel "trapped in their own homes." The chaos follows a fatal house fire roughly a mile from the crash site that killed seven-year-old Valentina Foster and her aunt Natalie McDonald, 34, plus a stabbing and multiple ram raids. Two men aged 23 and 31 are arrested on suspicion of murder over the blaze.
