Labour opens its biggest poll lead since the general election as Reform collapses to third place after Burnham's first 100 days

Labour's poll lead has surged to its widest margin since the general election, with Ipsos putting the party on 32 points, Kemi Badenoch's Conservatives on 24 and Nigel Farage's Reform UK on just 20. Reform topped the polls for nearly 18 months, from March 2025 until August. Since then it has been hit by a donations row, racism allegations against some members and the rise of Rupert Lowe's Restore Britain to its right. Electoral Calculus says the figures would hand Labour a 134-seat majority.
Ipsos research director Keiran Pedley: 'On the right, the tectonic plates have been shifting.'
Labour sat on 19% in June, one day before Sir Keir Starmer quit as PM.
Burnham faces his first Autumn Budget within days and has pushed back on early election rumours.
