Lacey Turner reveals she miscarried on the EastEnders set and 'just carried on' before joining Strictly

EastEnders actress Lacey Turner, 38, has disclosed that one of her two miscarriages happened while she was filming on the soap's set, and that she suppressed her grief and carried on working. Speaking to Prima magazine, Turner said she had become "so matter of fact" about the experience that she never spoke up at the time. Now preparing for her Strictly Come Dancing debut with professional partner Vito Coppola, she says she has since learned to be "more in tune" with herself.

Turner, who shares daughters Dusty, seven, and Gipsy, 20 months, and son Trilby, five, with husband Matt Kay, suffered both miscarriages before her children were born.

'Looking back, it's quite sad to know I reacted in such a way,' she said, adding that colleagues were supportive once she did open up.

Turner also admitted she is 'quite terrified' by Strictly, saying she fears being judged as herself rather than hiding behind a character.
