Thomson Heath Jenkins has shut its doors and called in insolvency practitioners, with one insider calling the collapse 'a shock for staff'. Founder Mark Thomson, the firm's sole owner, coordinated the case for all seven claimants. Their claim over 55 articles was thrown out at the High Court in July. Only a week ago, the firm's website boasted of high rankings in the Chambers & Partners UK Guide 2027.

Claimants included Sir Elton John, Baroness Doreen Lawrence, Liz Hurley and Sadie Frost.

Mr Justice Nicklin ruled the claim was built on inference, not hard evidence.

Seven of the firm's solicitors worked on the case against Associated Newspapers.
