Led Zeppelin let Netflix use 'Stairway to Heaven' in Narnia film after Greta Gerwig showed them an early cut

Led Zeppelin have ended more than five decades of refusing to licence 'Stairway to Heaven' for screen use, allowing Greta Gerwig to feature the song in her Netflix adaptation of C.S. Lewis's 'The Chronicles of Narnia'. The director told Stephen Colbert their 'love' of C.S. Lewis also helped seal the deal.

The moment became a running cultural joke: Wayne's World in 1992 showed a music-shop sign reading 'No Stairway to Heaven'.
