Wes Morgan, who captained Leicester City to their 2016 Premier League title and once earned £3 million a year, has lost his Court of Appeal bid to escape child maintenance arrears of roughly £137,000 owed to each of two mothers, Leyla Antoniou and Karla Morrell.

Morgan's own barrister said his reading, lapsing every top-up order annually, carried 'seeds of its own destruction'.

Computers cannot end court orders: King said handing that power to a CMS programme 'would be unconstitutional'.

Antoniou would have lost over £25,000 a year in top-up maintenance under Morgan's case, gaining about £6 weekly.
