Liam Gallagher tore into former Coronation Street actor Charlie Lawson on X after Lawson declared Oasis "distinctly average" in response to a post asking whether the band were overhyped.

Lawson, 67, best known as Jim McDonald on Coronation Street, replied to a poll on X asking whether Oasis were overhyped — writing simply: "They are distinctly average."

Gallagher fired back "like your f*'ing acting skills", then doubled down when fans asked who Lawson was: "Actor in his f'*ing dreams."

Rather than backing down, Lawson posted a clip of Talking Heads' David Byrne, calling them his favourite band — leaving fans stunned by the feud nobody saw coming.
