Linda Kitchen, 74, has broken her silence about the moment Singapore Airlines flight SQ321 fell violently over Myanmar in May 2024, causing the death of her husband Geoff, 73, who suffered a fatal heart attack amid the turbulence. Linda sustained spinal fractures and spent 10 days in intensive care, and did not learn of Geoff's death until two days after the event. She and a number of other UK passengers have now filed High Court personal injury claims against Singapore Airlines. The couple, from Thornbury near Bristol, had been on their way to a six-week holiday taking in Singapore, Indonesia and Australia.

Still buckled into her seat, Linda saw Geoff fall onto her before two fellow passengers dragged him towards the emergency exit, where a doctor started CPR.

The retired theatre director is survived by two children and four grandchildren; Linda's legal representation is being handled by Irwin Mitchell serious injury lawyers.

Flight data showed the Boeing 777-300ER dropped roughly 6,000 feet within minutes, with the sharpest single drop — 178ft — taking less than five seconds.
