Lisandro Martinez blasts Man Utd technical director Jason Wilcox over failure to sign more players after Atletico loss

Lisandro Martinez launched a public attack on Manchester United's leadership following a 2-0 Champions League defeat to Atletico Madrid on Tuesday night, naming technical director Jason Wilcox as responsible for the club's failure to add players to the squad over the summer. The Argentina international told Amazon Prime the result was "the mirror of how our club is at the moment" and described the lack of recruitment as "annoying, disappointing."

Pablo Barrios scored in the opening minute before Ademola Lookman added a late second, with Leny Yoro sent off with a straight red card.

Martinez argued that manager Michael Carrick does not deserve the lion's share of the blame but acknowledged that the players must also "do more."

"I expect more from our technical director," Martinez said, adding United built "an amazing base" last season only to be let down by those above them.
