Liz Truss's new book blaming the Bank of England for her downfall is panned with a zero-star review

Liz Truss claims Britain would be launching missions to Mars by 2040 if she had stayed in No 10. Reviewer Simon Heffer called 'Bank Job' 'the most deranged thing I've ever read'. In it she accuses the Treasury, the Bank of England and 'Tory traitors' of bringing down her government. She defends her £45bn of tax cuts by insisting 'every tax cut is unfunded'.

Truss says 'The Bank of England rug-pulled the elected government of the day'.

Her imagined 2040 sees Scotland booming after it 'thrown off the socialist SNP'.

She jokes there was no secret plan, 'although I can't rule it out!'
