London bus and tram fares set to rise by 10p next month in cost-of-living blow to millions

The ceiling on daily bus and tram spending climbs 30p to £5.55 when changes kick in on November 1. The Hopper fare, which allows unlimited bus and tram travel within one hour, moves to £1.85 for a single journey. Those holding concession cards will see a 5p increase. Transport for London calls it the first rise since March 2023; Tube, rail and Travelcard caps stay frozen until March.
London Mayor Sadiq Khan had billed the freeze an 'emergency cost-of-living measure'.
On a typical day, over five million bus journeys take place across London.
TfL insists fares are still 17% cheaper than they would have been had they risen in line with inflation.
