London Zoo's penguins, gorillas and capybaras tuck into a spooky pumpkin feast laid on by keepers ahead of Halloween

The annual pumpkin-feast tradition extends across the zoo, with keepers laying scent trails to trigger natural foraging instincts in species including Sumatran tigers, okapis and Komodo dragons.

Daniel Simmonds, Animal Operations Manager at London Zoo in Regent's Park, designed the seasonal pumpkin feast to push animals to use their natural foraging instincts rather than simply hand them food.

Humboldt penguins received fish served atop pumpkin platters, while capybaras had to hunt their treats hidden among carrots and greens.

Gorillas explored a dedicated pumpkin patch, picking through Halloween hauls of peppers and lettuce stuffed inside carved creations.
