Long-serving BBC Look East presenter is to quit after 35 years to start a new career as a psychotherapist

Susie Fowler-Watt, 56, trained as a therapist at 50 and qualified in 2024, and now wants to focus on that work full-time. Her last Look East programme will air on December 18, just before Christmas. She joined BBC Radio Surrey in 1991 and became the regional show's lead presenter in 1997, while still in her twenties. She has interviewed eight prime ministers.

She reported on the Soham murders and the trial of serial killer Steve Wright.

Fowler-Watt, who lives in Norfolk, said: 'What a joy this job has been.'

Her most memorable stories were about ordinary people in 'extraordinary' times, she said.
