Los Angeles mayor calls in prosecutors after an ICE agent was filmed pointing a gun in a dog walker's face
Masked ICE agents who shoved a dog walker into a bush and pressed a pistol to his face released him without arrest after he picked up a dropped spray canister during the detention of Angel Luis Gonzalez Lobo, 27, on Friday.
Angel Luis Gonzalez Lobo, 27, from Venezuela, was dragged screaming along the ground by masked ICE agents outside the Ivy at NOHO apartments on Otsego Street at 8:30 a.m. on Friday. A dog walker who picked up a dropped spray canister was then shoved into bushes and had a gun pressed inches from his face. Law enforcement experts said agents could not justify that level of force against an unarmed bystander.
Mayor Karen Bass vowed to engage the Attorney General's Office to 'investigate and prosecute any wrongdoing' by the federal agents.
Witness Damari Butler, who filmed the footage, said: 'I thought that was the end for him.'
A neighbour said she felt too scared to walk outside her own apartment building after the confrontation.
