Lost 2,000-year-old Christian church yields ancient message revealing path to salvation
Archaeologists have unearthed a 984-foot section of an ancient waterway south of Kibbutz Ramat Rachel that once carried water from Solomon's Pools near Bethlehem to Jerusalem's Temple Mount. The Israel Antiquities Authority announced the find on 11 October; the excavations were carried out in advance of a planned residential development. Dating to the Hasmonean period, the aqueduct fed the Second Temple complex, where water was used for ritual purification — the same site at which Jesus drove out the money changers and upended their tables.
