Lottery bosses hunt Tameside's 'missing millionaire' as a £1m jackpot ticket goes unclaimed with two months left to claim

A National Lottery ticket like the one bought in Tameside could be worth £1 million, with Andy Carter warning its owner has until 28 December to claim.
A National Lottery ticket like the one bought in Tameside could be worth £1 million, with Andy Carter warning its owner has until 28 December to claim.

Someone in Tameside, Greater Manchester, bought a Lotto ticket on 1 July and matched all six numbers — 5, 8, 26, 33, 39, 42 with Bonus Ball 54 — but has no idea they are sitting on a £1 million fortune. National Lottery operator Allwyn says the deadline to come forward is midnight on 28 December, leaving the winner barely two months to act before the prize expires.

Allwyn's Andy Carter says he has 'searched high and low across Tameside' but found no trace of the winner.

A separate £12 million unclaimed ticket bought in Rhondda Cynon Taf, Wales, in June also remains uncollected.

Kath Main, 46, previously claimed the Welsh ticket was hers but was wrongly told it was not a winner when she checked it at a Londis store.
