Lottery bosses hunt Tameside's missing millionaire, who has just two months left to claim a £1m jackpot

A National Lottery ticket like the one bought in Tameside could be worth £1 million, with Andy Carter warning its owner has until 28 December to claim.
A National Lottery ticket like the one bought in Tameside could be worth £1 million, with Andy Carter warning its owner has until 28 December to claim.

Andy Carter, senior winners' adviser at National Lottery operator Allwyn, says he has "searched high and low across Tameside" for the winner of the 1 July draw but found no one. The ticket — bought somewhere in the Greater Manchester borough, which includes Hyde, Ashton-under-Lyne and Stalybridge — must be claimed before midnight on 28 December or the prize is lost.

The winning numbers were 5, 8, 26, 33, 39, 42, with Bonus Ball 54.

A separate £12m unclaimed ticket from Rhondda Cynon Taf in Wales is also outstanding, with Kath Main, 46, claiming it is hers but was thrown away after a Londis scanner wrongly told her it was a loser.

Missing prizes go to good causes; the biggest unclaimed UK jackpot in history was a £63.8m EuroMillions win.
