Lottery bosses hunt a missing Tameside millionaire who has just two months left to claim a £1m jackpot

A National Lottery ticket like the one bought in Tameside could be worth £1 million, with Andy Carter warning its owner has until 28 December to claim.
A National Lottery ticket like the one bought in Tameside could be worth £1 million, with Andy Carter warning its owner has until 28 December to claim.

The winning ticket — numbers 5, 8, 26, 33, 39, 42, Bonus Ball 54 — was bought in Tameside, Greater Manchester, on 1 July, but its owner has never come forward. Andy Carter, senior winners' adviser at lottery operator Allwyn, says he has 'searched high and low across Tameside' with no success. Under National Lottery rules, the prize expires at midnight on 28 December, leaving the mystery holder under two months to act.

The ticket could be 'tucked away somewhere completely ordinary', Carter warned, while its owner remains UNAWARE they are a millionaire.

A separate £12m winning ticket bought in Rhondda Cynon Taf in June also remains unclaimed — and a Welsh woman claims that prize was hers but she accidentally binned it.

Wednesday's Lotto draw produced three new millionaires, with one player scooping a £2.8m jackpot and two others winning £1m each.
