Lula and Flavio Bolsonaro face off in their first TV debate as supporters flood Brazil's streets before the runoff

Jair Bolsonaro is serving a 27-year sentence for plotting a coup after losing to Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva in 2022. His son, Senator Flavio Bolsonaro, has called that trial a 'farce' and promised to seek amnesty for him if elected. Flavio finished nearly 2 points ahead in the first round on October 4. Polls show a tight race for the October 25 runoff.

Pro-Bolsonaro crowds in yellow, green and blue packed Sao Paulo's Paulista Avenue on Sunday.
