Luna, a 10-year-old Jack Russell terrier, was reunited with her California family on Wednesday after surviving more than five weeks alone in Yellowstone National Park — a wilderness teeming with grizzly bears and wolves. Volunteer rescue coordinator Katie Boucher found her inside a trap baited with fabric scraps from her owners' T-shirt and pillowcase. The dog had been written off for dead before the miraculous recovery.

She was spotted walking through lodges via automatic doors and sneaking into eateries her family had visited the day before she vanished.
