Thousands flooded Washington's Foggy Bottom neighbourhood on Friday, surrounding the Kennedy Center in a "Hands Around the Kennedy Center" demonstration after Trump's board voted to shut the venue indefinitely. Wonder Woman star Lynda Carter was among those leading the protest, with crowds booing every mention of Trump's name. A judge has ordered the Kennedy Center to give 30 days' notice before any major physical changes, but organisers fear Trump could act without warning, pointing to the East Wing demolition as precedent.
Trump's board voted Tuesday to close the center indefinitely, hours after a judge blocked attempts to restore his name to the building.
Trump declared the venue 'destined to doom' without his involvement, and has threatened to block renovations entirely.
Co-founder Chris Raleigh warned Trump could ignore court notification, saying: 'We got up one morning and there was a giant hole there.'
