The coastbound M2 between Chatham and Sittingbourne remains closed on Thursday morning as National Highways continues clear-up works following Tuesday night's fatal crash. Kent Police is appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage after the man was hit by multiple vehicles close to Medway Services at around 21:00 on 27 October. The London-bound carriageway reopened on Wednesday afternoon, but delays of more than 10 minutes persist on approach to both junctions.

Coastbound drivers are being diverted via the A229 to Maidstone, then the M20, and back via the A249.

National Highways warns commuters to expect continued disruption and allow extra journey time.
