Man shot dead in Paris drive-by that Macron calls a 'racist terror attack' is named as amateur MMA fighter
The Atch Academy in Aubervilliers identified the victim as Pengo Bossio Wangi, 26, stating: 'Pengo was one of us.' French authorities have yet to formally name him. Suspect Kévin T., 39, was taken into custody after a 15-minute rampage through Trappes and La Verrière. Police recovered a Sten-type submachine gun from his vehicle, and his apartment had been rigged with gas cylinders connected to a timer.
A 12-year-old girl was shot eight times but is now in a stable condition.
Trappes mayor Ali Rabeh described the gunman as 'wanting to cause a bloodbath'.
The suspect has four previous convictions, all automatically expunged under French law.
