MAHA agenda hits wall before midterms as key RFK Jr. adviser quits over stalled White House meeting and glyphosate order
The resignation of a top health adviser has thrown the MAHA agenda into turmoil less than a fortnight before the midterm elections, triggered in part by a postponed White House meeting with Robert F. Kennedy Jr. on ultraprocessed foods. One official said Means had been 'continuously stonewalled'. MAHA leader Vani Hari pointed to a White House executive order supporting expanded glyphosate production as his breaking point.
Means said Trump and Kennedy are confronting 'a corrupt DC bureaucracy' protecting the status quo.
Among his achievements, he secured the removal of synthetic food dyes from products and pushed through a ban on soda purchases under the SNAP food assistance programme.
Neither the White House nor the Department of Health and Human Services has commented publicly.
