Maine Democrat refuses to apologise for telling Senator Susan Collins to 'shut up' after she linked him to a protester

Troy Jackson said on Sunday that he will not be 'talked down to' by the Republican incumbent. The protester was Henry Elgie, a 19-year-old Bowdoin College student who says he had 'zero coordination' with Jackson. The Sunrise Movement, a Green New Deal campaign group, said it was 'proud' of its volunteer. Elgie disrupted Thursday's final debate to protest against data centers.

Collins has asked for a sixth term, and Mainers vote on November 3.

Collins said the protester was 'obviously one of Troy's supporters', then answered Jackson's retort with 'Oh, right.'

Jackson says he shook Collins's hand after every one of their four debates.
