Man, 18, is arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a teenager was stabbed in the chest in the town

An 18-year-old Leamington man was arrested on Saturday evening, several hours after a 16-year-old boy had been detained on suspicion of affray. The victim was stabbed close to the bandstand in Pump Room Gardens at around 10.25pm on Friday and is currently in hospital, where his condition is described as stable. Det Insp Imran Ghouri of Leamington CID called it 'an extremely serious incident'.

Police have acknowledged that 'a lot of people' were present in the gardens when the attack took place.

Detectives are appealing for CCTV, dashcam and doorbell footage from streets in the surrounding area.
