Man, 23, is indicted after he was filmed carrying a screaming woman, 24, through a Honolulu parking lot

Diesel Kawelo, 23, has been indicted by a grand jury after surveillance cameras caught him chasing, grabbing and carrying a 24-year-old woman through a condominium parking lot in Honolulu's Diamond Head neighbourhood at noon on Monday. The attack unfolded in front of the victim's 77-year-old companion, who was left helpless as Kawelo dragged the screaming woman toward his truck. Neighbours heard the screams and intervened, with one resident yelling at Kawelo to release her while another called police.

The elderly companion said Kawelo had 'so much hatred and craziness in his eyes' and 'looked like a monster.'

Resident Mike Finkelstein confronted Kawelo directly, shouting he had called police and was coming down after him.

Court documents have since revealed additional details about the kidnapping attempt as the grand jury indictment advances the case toward trial.
