Nadia Mucha, 16, was found close to a bus stop on Rooks Nest Road in Wakefield at around 8.33pm on September 29, suffering serious head and chest injuries in what detectives believe was a hit-and-run. She died in hospital four days later. West Yorkshire Police's Homicide and Major Enquiry Team has since taken a 25-year-old man into custody on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving; he has been bailed while enquiries continue.
Detectives are still appealing for information to establish the full circumstances of Nadia's death.
Her cousin Courtney Jade Biggs wrote: 'She was the most selfless, caring soul — she didn't deserve any of this.'
Temporary DCI Elly Buchanan vowed police are 'working at pace to find the answers her family deserve.'
