Man, 30, is charged with 'attempted rape and strangulation' of a woman, 23, attacked in Islington in July

Robert Montiel Feo was arrested and charged on Wednesday, more than three months after the attack. The woman says a man approached her on Essex Road at around 3.20am on July 4, and she was then attacked on Church Road. Feo also faces a charge of serious sexual assault. He was due to appear at Highbury Corner Magistrates' Court on Thursday.

Detective Chief Inspector Paul Ridley thanked the public for helping detectives over recent months.

Specialist officers are still supporting the 23-year-old victim, the Met says.

The Met says it remains 'steadfast' in tackling violence against women and girls.
