Man, 33, accused of punching a Jewish mother pushing her baby in a pram denies attacks on three women
Stamford Hill, London. Abdisamad Siad pleaded not guilty to three assault charges after allegedly punching a Jewish mother pushing her baby in a pram, with a provisional trial set for December 11.
Abdisamad Siad pleaded not guilty to three counts of assault by beating at Highbury Corner Magistrates' Court and was remanded in custody. Prosecutor Shubhangi Mitra told magistrates the visibly Orthodox Jewish victims were targeted in attacks 'motivated by hostility'. Volunteers from Shomrim detained him on Clapton Common before police arrived. A provisional trial is set for December 11.
The alleged attacks came minutes apart: a slap at 1.30pm, two punches at 1.36pm.
The third woman was allegedly punched 'three to four times' before he ran off.
Siad also faces a separate GBH charge, with a Crown Court hearing on November 18.
