Man, 33, is charged after three Jewish women, including a mother pushing a pram, were assaulted in Hackney

Abdisamad Siad, 33, of Pilgrims Way, Islington, faces three counts of assault by beating over Monday's attacks on Clapton Common. He was caught and held by volunteers from Shomrim, the Jewish neighbourhood watch, before police arrived. Siad is also charged with GBH with intent over an unrelated attack on a woman known to him on 16 October. He is due at Highbury Corner Magistrates' Court later today.

Shomrim volunteers arrived 30 seconds after the first call and witnessed a second assault.

Video shows the attacker swinging two punches at the head of the woman with the pram.

Victims told Shomrim he picked out only Jewish women, and police stepped up local patrols.
