Paul Rosser-Davies, 48, of Brewhouse Road, Greenwich, is charged with attempted murder and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life, and is due to appear at Wimbledon Magistrates' Court today. The 32-year-old victim had pulled over his van and stepped in to defuse an argument between two motorists on Frances Street, Woolwich, at around 8pm on October 22, before being shot multiple times.

The victim, a father shot in the face, was given just a one per cent chance of survival and was airlifted to an east London hospital by the London Air Ambulance.

A relative wrote on Facebook: 'An innocent man at the wrong place at the wrong time — a family man who was on his way home from work.'

Rosser-Davies fled the scene in a dark-coloured saloon heading towards Woolwich Church Street; the Met's Specialist Crime Command called the shooting 'senseless'.
